Give the Gift that Gives Back

Tis the Season of Giving and Today kicks off Giving Tuesday, It is a movement to create an international day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. It was started in 2012 as a response to commercialization and consumerism of Black Friday and Cyber Monday.  Giving-Tues-Logo 3

On this Giving Tuesday,  what are you thankful for?  I am thankful for my family, who taught me at a young age to give back and help others, we have been doing that ever since.

Every year my family would help families in need.  Each holiday we would serve seniors in Nursing homes and make Thanksgiving meals for needy families.   Mom would make everything from turkey to pies, load the car and deliver the meals with presents to their homes. These are just a few of the ways we would help others and I learned to Give Thanks, Give Back & Give Love.  chalkboard give thanks give love

Many believe that you make a living by what you get, but my Parents taught me that you make a Life by what you Give. They believe that God gave us two hands, one to help ourselves and the other to help others.

This year my father has taken his love and giving thanks by giving back. He took his words of Love, Life, Family, Friends & Faith and created a book of poetry.

My Dad has many talents, he is both a right brain and left brain thinker. He is an engineer by trade but also an artist and writer as well.  He has so many gifts and this book is one of his gifts that he wants to share with you.

This Holiday season if you are looking for that special gift to give, we have the perfect gift for you- It is a book that gives back- 100% of proceeds go to charity. It is the gift that keeps giving. This Giving Tuesday purchase the Gift that Gives Back.

“Just a Middle Class Guy Waxing Poetic” is the every-man’s book which encourages every man to do something positive to make his life more meaningful.
Learn how to be inspired, successful and happy.
Feel good about yourself and take pride in doing something, or saying something, or even thinking something and then acting on it.
Don’t be concerned with what anyone else thinks about you or your work, just know that it defines your inner-self and that makes you uniquely successful.
Your happiness can be derived by taking a lesson or a thought or just an idea from “Just a Middle Class Guy Waxing Poetic” and making it your own.

A few words from the Author-When my daughter, Jennifer, asked me why I wrote my book, she actually challenged me to consider the reasons.

My first thought was that I realized that there were many reasons that had never occurred to me, such as, making a lot of money, impressing anyone, imposing my opinion or even becoming famous in a small way.

Upon further reflection, it became clear to me that primarily, I wanted to thank my family for sharing their lives with me.  Furthermore, I hoped that my words would be inspiring to anyone who needed a little push to do something special with their talents.

It has always been in my heart to help the physically and spiritually oppressed, so it also occurred to me that my book must have been written for that exact purpose.

If each of you who receives this would consider buying 1 book and passing on this post to all of your friends and encouraging them to do the same, we could go a long way to feeding the needy.  I have gifted 100% of the proceeds from the book sales to date and will continue to do so going forward.

Enjoy the book and God bless,

Kenny Blake
